Peter Egan’s Resume
Business Owner, Search Marketing Extraordinaire, Writer & General Pursuer of Excellence
Note: Mr. Egan is not currently seeking employment, however he is willing to consult with other businesses in addition to his current employment (and has permission to do so). Please see the “Work Experience” section below for more information about consulting with Peter Egan, whether or not your company is a good fit for Egan’s services and how to contact him if interested.
Peter Egan works as co-Marketing Director and Assistant Administrator for EGAN Home Health and Hospice. Peter is responsible for all online activity, marketing/promotions, public relations, website design/development & maintenance for all of the companies under the EGAN Healthcare umbrella. These include, EGAN Home Health Care, EGAN Hospice, EGAN Medical Staffing, EGAN Wellness and Anti-Aging Clinic, EGAN Skin Care & Med Spa, EGAN Nursing Services and EGAN Healthcare Services.
Due to the proprietary nature of online promotion, suffice it to say Peter has helped each and every one of his companies, clients and employers grow as a business, helping directly increase revenue without necessarily increasing overhead. Every business website Peter has worked with has become a major component of the business as a whole, whether it be from online sales, lead generation or branding, every business he’s worked for or with has benefited greatly from his knowledge and skill.
Peter closed down EGAN Medical in the fall of 2014 in order to rejoin EGAN Home Health and Hospice on a full-time basis, due largely in-part because his father, Peter Egan Sr. (President and CEO of the EGAN family of companies) asked him to do so.
Prior to taking over a failing medical supply store and completely reversing its fortunes in under a year by slashing overhead, building a website and online store and beginning to sell online, Peter worked as a top campaign aide to United States Senator David Vitter for the majority of the 2010 calendar year. He excelled in his role of Grassroots Coordinator for southeast Louisiana. His territory encompassed roughly 1/3-1/4 of the state, including Orleans, Jefferson and St. Tammany Parishes (approximately 17 Parishes/Counties total). Peter’s exceptional performance helped propel the Senator to a 19-point landslide victory over then-Congressman Charlie Melancon, who had vacated his seat as Louisiana’s U.S. Representative from Congressional District 3 to challenge Vitter’s Senate seat.
Peter respectfully declined an offer to join the United States Senator’s full-time staff in Washington following the election. Egan’s prior experience working as a campaign aide in southeast Louisiana made him an immediate asset to the campaign, a position that required him to take a temporary pay cut, but more than made up for the reduction in financial compensation with the experience of working alongside some of America’s most talented young public relations specialists and some of America’s most prestigious elected officials and political consultants.
Peter built and maintains the official websites for both EGAN Healthcare Services (http://EganHealthcare.com/) and the EGAN Wellness Clinic (http://www.PamelaEgan.com/). He is in the process of developing a handful of new websites for EGAN Home Health and Hospice so that each company within the umbrella corporation will have its own site and identity.
For example, EGAN Hospice is in the process of getting its own website (http://EganHospice.com/) separate from the main EGAN Healthcare parent-company site.
Peter has built and developed well in excess of 100 websites for business clients, employers, political candidates, individuals as well as for himself (both personal and business). He also handled the marketing, SEO and general website promotion for a number of past employers, clients, personal and business sites. Virtually every site for which Egan has been the primary individual in charge of online promotions has fared very well in search and nearly all achieved their objectives in terms of securing the #1 spot in search results for the search terms targeted. Generally speaking, the terns targeted were unusually ambitious in terms of competition and volume (the number of terms targeted by a given site or company). He has experienced virtually unprecedented success targeted extremely competitive search terms targeted toward local searches, targeted nationally and targeted globally. He has gone head-to-head with giants such as Amazon and Target and won in spite of their massive built-in advantages.
Peter’s companies have made sales and shipped products to nearly every country on earth. His former company’s website was translatable into 40 different languages, as is his current employer’s site. In fact, the website automatically detects the visitor’s native language and translates the site automatically for visitors whose native language isn’t English.
Peter is the owner of WePick.com, a top-shelf, premium domain name that he is now in the process of developing. He has received over 100 offers to purchase the domain – all before there was even a website there – with the vast majority being for amounts in excess of $1,000, with no less than three in excess of $20,000 and one in excess of $30,000.
The idea for the site that Peter plans to ultimately develop WePick.com into will be worth far in excess of $30,000, if his projections are anywhere near accurate. Even if they’re not, he can always put the domain to auction, where it should command between $75,000-$350,000 based on sales of comparable (and in some cases inferior) domains.
Peter’s professional career began at age 17 when he got a job working as a sports stringer, beat writer and later and feature writer for a local, biweekly news publication, which at the time was branded under the name “The Newsbanner”. The paper focused its coverage on news relevant to the western portion of St. Tammany Parish, including all of Covington and Mandeville. Highlights from that job include interviews Peter conducted with NBA star Chris Duhon, former NFL return specialist B.J. Sams, a WNBA star and a female Olympic swimmer. The former two interviews occurred before the respective professional athletes had enrolled in college.
Egan spent most of the 2004 calendar year working for now-Governor Bobby Jindal’s successful political campaign for Louisiana’s First District U.S. Congressional Seat. He respectfully declined an offer to accompany Jindal to Washington, citing the completion of his formal education as the reason.
Peter has been working in the field of online marketing (SEO, SEM, PPC, web design & development, blogging, etc.) since the inception of these fields. When Peter first began studying SEO, Yahoo commanded approximately half of the overall search market, with the rest being divided up by MSN and smaller companies like Dogpile, AltaVista and Google*.
*Smaller companies at that point in time. Obviously Google is not a smaller company than Yahoo anymore.

co-Marketing Director & Assistant Administrator
EGAN Home Health & Hospice – Metairie, LA
September 2005 to Present
Peter built the first website for the company then-known as EGAN Healthcare Services in 2006, and has overseen the company’s digital and online presence in the time since. Peter is in charge of online marketing while a colleague is the Director of all non-internet-based marketing.
EGAN Medical Equipment, Inc – Metairie, LA
January 2011 to September 2014
Founder, President, CEO. Personally developed e-commerce website at EganMedical(dot)com and blog at http://eganmedicalequipment.com/. Took over the failing company in January of 2011 when it consisted of two brick-and-mortar retail stores, both of which cost more money to operate than they were bringing in. He quickly reversed the company’s fortunes by shutting down one storefront immediately, and building a website and online store which launched in March of 2011 and by January of 2012 was bringing in more revenue than both of the physical retail storefronts had been bringing in combined. He proceeded to close the remaining brick-and-mortar store in mid-2012, making the company an online business entirely. He installed a couple of storage units in his backyard and began running the business from his own home. In the course of doing so, Peter reduced overhead by over 400% while growing revenue by more than 220%. He led the company to a banner year in 2013, and was on pace to replicate the 2013 figures in 2014 when his father asked him to rejoin the family business on a full-time basis. Even while running his own business, Peter continued to oversee the online presence of all of his mother and father’s companies in addition to his full-time work as a business owner. His decision to take over the failing retail business and turn it into a winner saved his family’s businesses considerable losses, and when he shut the business down in mid-late 2014 is had fulfilled its purpose of selling the inventory he inherited when he took over the business and could have kept the company going indefinitely and earned a nice living in doing so had he chosen to.
